Suspect Accused of Previously Unresolved Murder Cases

A murder that took place around 20 years ago has recently gained further closure. The suspect, LC, is also accused of additional matters that came out once he had been taken into custody. LC confessed to the additional killing of a 42 years old woman, as well as two other victims that were killed back in 1993. He has been particularly vocal about the case, giving offers quite a bit of information to work with. He stated that his attacks were generally focused on younger women that he would first become friends with before committing the attack. After the confession, officers in the areas where other similar crimes took place were notified and they reported that due to the evidence, they did not have reason to believe he was responsible.

LC had allegedly committed a number of stabbings in a four day period back in 1973. He was sentenced to prison and then began taking up the acts again once released for a year and was sentenced to 24 years in prison in 1977. He served a prison sentence again when he was found to have assaulted his girlfriend, along with stabbing a coworker that turned him down. The suspect served a sentence of 13 years and was then in a probationary period when officers begin to look back in to older cases. When they looked into an old case in the Bronx and tested the DNA, they found a match for LC.

He was reviewed for another case involving the stabbing of a young lady and upon searching his home they found a body and the electronic ankle bracelet that was used to monitor him cut off. He was found a few hours later just a short distance from the apartment. In more recent advancements of the case, the judge has determined that the suspect can in fact stand trial before the court. A mental evaluation was carried out to determine his status and this was done by two psychologists that were appointment by the court. It is fair to say that he has a significant past and the odds in this case do not look like they are in his favor.

Not every case is as clear cut and even in the direst of circumstances, there are often important details that if brought to light can change the outcome. Criminal charges are a serious matter and they can come with a high cost. Even lesser crimes can be damaging to those found guilty.
